nikon f-501

i bought a 1990's era nikon f-501 35mm film camera off ebay a while back.  i thought the lenses from my dslr would work on it…but because the aperture is controlled within these newer lenses, it didn't work.  they fit on the camera, but all the functions don't work properly.  however…i discovered that my lensbaby composer would work since the aperture is controlled externally.  i was so thrilled! actually, any completely manual lens will work on this film camera.  you can't beat a lensbaby look on top of film!

what a great camera the f-501 is.  a bit heavy, though.  i am going to have to get a camera strap for this beast.  it handles the light beautifully, though.  fortunately, there's a sensor within the viewfinder to help me decide what shutter speed to use with the lensbaby.  once i set the aperture on the lensbaby, i get a little help from the sensor…now, the focus is a whole other situation.  lensbaby lenses are designed to be wonky and give a skewed perspective.  i love the look of a warped image!
